The elf on the shelf

Peek a boo Sport makes christmas
#a blast but he will be your best.

Ouch do not touch him or magic
might go all over the place. The Elf
on the shelf is a friendly scout elf
that wears red clothing.

Tick Tock The elf comes
at the end of the school term
with a friendly shin.

Swish The elf flies from place
to place from each classroom.

Shhhhh The elf listens to all that
is said each month.

Blink Blink the elf watches the nice
things you do and the bad things you do.

Woo - Hoo The elf plays a hide and
seek game and I named him Ralph

Bye Bye you’ll wish him a great
Christmas eve on the day.

Ho-Ho-Ho They will chuckle in spite of themselves in the right night.

Dental visitor

At 9:30am in the morning a dental visitor came in.
Her name is Kahu. She came in to talk about how to
keep your teeth clean. We have to brush our teeth
twice a day after breakfast and before bed. We have
to make sure were using a soft toothbrush. We gotta
brush our teeth gently.  We also have to brush our
teeth for 2 minutes. We can sing a song in our head
or you can ask you mum if she can sing for you. Kids
are only allowed 5 teaspoons of sugar daily. Male are
allowed to have 9 teaspoons of sugar. Female are
allowed 6 teaspoons of sugar. When you can feel
roughness on your teeth that is plaque. Saliva takes
all the plaque away. Apple juice has 28 teaspoons of
sugar per litre.

Letter to Mrs Stevenson

Hi Mrs Stevenson

This term I have enjoyed learning new things with
Whaea Missy. We have been posting things on our
blogs and going back to edit our writing.

Soccer with James

On Monday the 16th of September my class and I went on the field and played soccer with James. James gave us an instruction. He said that we had to jog around inside the cones and that when he says freeze we had to stay still. Next we had to get a soccer ball and kick the ball around. James told us to leave the ball where it was then run to the other side. We did that a few times then put the soccer ball in the bag then went back to class.

The Minstrel show

On Monday the 9th of September we had the Minstrel and Mrs Minstrel come to our school and did a performance. It was called Hiwi the kiwi. The Minstrel told us funny stories. The Minstrel told us how to be safe on a boat. Before you go on a boat you should put a life Jacket on. I learnt that SOS stands for save our seabirds. Don’t throw and pieces of plastic out of the boat because the birds will think it is food and will die. We did kanikani while the Minstrel was playing the guitar. Mikayla  and Bobby got up to help the Minstrel. You should put a sinker on your fishing rod so the birds don’t get the bait. When you are on a boat and you catch a fish you put it on a wet towel. Another lesson I learnt was that you should put the big fish back so it can have a baby fish.

home and eat. We had our class cooking because
Whaea Anna was not with us.

To make the cornflake cookies this is what you need :

1.  150g butter
2. ½  cup chelsea sugar
3. 1 egg
4. ¼ cup sultanas
5. 1  ½ cups flour
6. 1 teaspoon baking powder
7. About 2 cups cornflakes

Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan large
enough to mix all the ingredients. Cool slightly
then mix in the egg, sultanas, sifted flour and baking
powder until combined. Lightly crush cornflakes.
Using a measuring spoon,measure heaped
tablespoonful of mixture. Drop into mixture and
toss to coat. Place on a greased oven tray and
flatten with a fork, Allowing room for spreading.
Bake 180 c  for 15 minutes or until golden.

Make about 20.

Cross Country

On Tuesday the 27th of August we went to
Cross Country. When we got to school Mrs Radich
gave us a school uniform. When we were changed
in our uniforms we had to go to Mrs Radich
and she would put a number on our hands.
When the bell went everyone went back to class
and then went up to the front of the hall.
We got on the bus and the bus driver drove
everyone to Johnny Jones farm. Tuva - Lisa's
mum was selling all the food at the canteen.
When we got to Johnny Jones farm each group ran.
It was a bit of a long wait for my group to run.
There were 5 different schools at the Cross Country.
I had a snack before I ran. I came in 8th place
in the race.  When we were finished running we
went on the buses and went back to school.
