Reflection - My favourite part on making this Slide Show was finding all the Images for the Spaces and also the backgrounds. I look for the different animals. There were heaps of different animals to choose from so I just chose the ones that are in the Slide.

Prototec Math's Sheet

 

WALT : We are  learning  to quickly calculate number  problems.

I was on Stage 5 in Prototec.  I like doing Stage 5 because it was challenging and fun to do.  I could memorise the strategies hard and fast.  When I finished the  Prototec Maths Sheet I marked it  and checked my  percent and it was 90. My time was fourteen minutes and three  seconds. 

Question - Did you like my Prototec Maths Sheet about my maths learning? My favourite part of the maths sheet was answering all of the difficulty maths equations.

How to make healthy gummies

                                                 2x Bags of Gelatin

WALT : We are learning to follow recipes.

Step 1 : First you have to get the ingredients out of the cupboard such as the Materials.

Step 2 : Next get the Bag of Ice out of the freezer and pour pieces of it into the gummy mixer. 

Step 3 : Thirdly get a Juicer out of the cupboard, then cut a few pieces of lemons or oranges and put them in the juicer and squeeze most of the juice into a bowl. 

Step 4 : Next pour about 120 grams of orange Juice into the measuring Jug and tip it into the little pot thing.

Step 5 : After that get the honey and put two tablespoons of it into the little pot thing and stir it in.

Step 6 : Next we pour the mixture into the patterns of a gummy. There are different gummy holes like: Snakes, Bears, coca Cola bottles and rings with diamonds on the top of it.

My Speech:

WALT: We are learning to write a persuasive Speech. 

Covid 19 lock down  Intro: 1.Hello my name is Shikayla. I am a year five and I am in Te Puawai. I will be talking about lock down.

2.During covid 19 lock down my dad brought me, him, my baby brother and my mum two motorbikes. He brought them off his cousin. We got an orange motorbike and one that is Turquoise.

3.My dad borrowed their truck to take the motorbikes to our house and then when he was finished he dropped the truck off and then picked up our car and came back home. When the motorbikes were placed where my dad put them he took me and my baby brother for a ride. We went to the back of the houses and up the top we went.

4.  Where we made tracks there are blackberry plants on the side of them and at the end of the year when all of mine and my baby brothers cousins and siblings come up we pick from them. We take a plastic clear bottle or a yogurt container. 5. At night time we always watch the news to find out more about Covid 19 and the weather. It was the second week of lockdown so my nan called Mary came to my house to visit us and see how we were.   6.She said that her and my papa Bob were missing me and my baby brother. We had a month of lockdown which was a little bit boring but most of it fun because I was taught how to ride the turquoise motorbike which was really cool and fun because I got to ride the bike when my dad asked me if I wanted to ride it and I would of said yes or no.

7. Everytime my nan would come over she would of brung some of my stuff to me that I wanted to use and she dropped off four packets of bubble Gum, Razzoo chewy lollies and soft lollies that my dad always eats becausehe loves them. My dad would have eaten a whole packet.  It was Tuesday so we all got up and my mum made  us some breakfast.

8.We had freshly made Toast, cheesy sausages and bacon. When we had finished eating our breakfast me and my baby brother got changed out of our Pijamas and went outside. It was a really sunny day but a little bit windy.  9. The horse was rolling around in the long grass and me and my baby brother were laughing at him. We yelled out to him and then he got back up and then came to the fence. My dad gave us two carrots to feed the horse because he was not leaving so my baby brother and I dropped the carrots in front of him, patted him and left.

10. Me and my baby brother went back by the cabin and it was time for lunch. My mum made us some Hot chips and hot dogs with sauce.  We had two hot dogs cut up on a plate and there were four pieces on the plate, then my mum gave us a big scoop of hot chips.  11.When we were finished eating we went back outside. We saw the goat and fed him two pieces of bread, patted him and then we left. We went back down by my mum and dad, then we got cookies and cream ice cream on a cone.

12. When we were finished eating our ice cream we watched a movie. It was called Sheep Wolves: The pig deal. When the movie was finished my baby brother fell asleep so I drawed. I pulled my markers out of my bag and then got my blank white paper and started to draw. 13.I drawed a sunset with a tree reflecting in the sun and a mountain on the other side of the water. The picture took nearly ten minutes to draw and color in. When the picture was finished it was looking pretty cool.

14. Well this is the last of it. I hope you have enjoyed my presentation about lockdown. It is true that we have to keep ourselves safe and healthy.

Prodigy Game

 

WALT: We are learning to make basic facts and equations right.

This is prodigy. It is a maths activity for kids. The different people that play are called wizards. You can battle other members that are playing and you solve different problems like what i have done here. I had to figure out the maths problem and get it right. The question was 2 + 8 = and then I had to figure it out. The answer to it is 10. When you get it right there is a rectangle slide thing that scrolls across the screen and it says on it CORRECT as you can see at the second picture that I had inserted.

Why I chose my design:

Why I chose my design:

I chose this design because I thought it would be difficult for me to make with the Popsicle sticks and using a hot glue gun. The worst bit while I was making my prototype was burning myself. The easy part of making my prototype was filling the timber holders with the mud and plants. My favourite part was putting the whole thing together.

What did you find challenging?

The challenging part was gluing the top on because the Popsicle sticks that were glued on the side were bumpy at the top and I could not get them straight.

What was your favourite part?

My favourite part was putting the whole thing together because it was easy to stick and it dried out fast. 

What could you have done better?

I think I could have done the holders better and straighter because the bits underneath that were holding the holders were in different places not actually in line with each other.

All about Me

Hi my name is Shikayla. My favourite things to do are art, activities and playing with my friends at school. I have one cat. She is my favourite animal ever. Her name is Mar-mite because she is black and a bit of brown is faded into her fur. She has green eyes. She likes rolling around on the concrete in the Sun. She always bites me when she is hungry. I like to play netball because it is fun and easy to play. I have a few friends from school that play Netball. My favourite foods to eat are Mcdonalds, lollies and donuts because they are sweet. The food that I don’t like to eat are vegetables because they taste very yuck. The show that I like to watch on TV is The Thundermans because it is funny. I go to Paparore school and I am a year 5 and my friends are Madison, Cleo and Awhitia. My favourite classes are Te Tinana and Te Puawai. The teachers that I like are Mrs Stevenson, Mr Masters and Whaea Deb. 

The seven stars of Matariki

Once upon a time there was a village. There was a guy called Lucas. He had 

Seven brothers. Lucas was the youngest out of him and his brothers. He was 

Raised by his koroua the great tohunga and his name was James. Lucas 

could change himself into a bird and eavesdrop on his brother's 

Conversations. Lucas loved going outside for adventure as much as his 

Brothers loved themselves. They were the most handsome men in the 

Village. One day Lucas and his seven Brothers were out hunting on Mount 

Camel hill until they heard the most beautiful singing ever. They followed it 

to the top of Mount Camel and they saw the most beautiful women ever. The 

women had golden hair as shiny as a glowing gem with their skin white. 

Each one of the Brothers fell intensively in love except for Lucas. Women of 

the strange can bring harm said Lucas trying to warn them. These women 

ain’t our kind they are patupaiarehe fairy women. The seven brothers no 

longer listened to what Lucas said so instead each one of the brothers took 

the women back to the village to marry them and make them their wives. 

Lucas Did not like his brothers wives because they never took part in village 

life all they had done was sitting down brushing their golden hair and 

singing. Luke’s brothers did not go hunting only leaving their house to 

gather their wives kaimoana who would refuse to eat anything but seafood. 

Luke’s Brothers became skinny and their good looks started disappearing  as 

The days went by. Lucas became more suspicious by the days because of his 

brothers wives so he watched them closely and he noticed something. The 

wives never even leaved their houses. One day Luke’s older brother William 

came Home early from doing work outside, then he called out to his wife but 

she was nowhere to be found. William searched the whare of his brothers 

and the other wives were also missing. When Williams wife had returned 

home back to the village William had asked where she had been but she 

didn’t say where she was. Luke’s koroua said to watch and find out where 

they are going. Early the next day Lucas hid behind a tree and he spotted 

six fantails perched on a tree branch and a seventh fantail flew from the 

house. Luke change himself into a tui and follow the seven women to the

House. They had a plan and Lucas heard it. The women said that they will 

starve the brothers. Lucas went back to the village and told his brothers 

About their wives. Lucas and his brothers went to go back. Lucas said to the 

Brothers. You were strong men now look at you. Lucas went back to his 

Koroua and said what should we do now. He said we must take them to 

Te Raiwhara said the koroua.  The tohunga gave Lucas and his brothers a 

special net to get the seven women. The next day the brothers and Lucas 

Hide and waited for their wives and they were birds then the brothers and 

Lucas jumped out from the tree and caught the seven women and then they 

tied the net up, then Lucas turned into a big bird and took them to the 

Heavens to urutinga nanga god of the stars and ask urutinga to take the 

Patupaiarehe far away. Urutinga took the seven women to the farest 

heavens  and they shined bright like stars.

My Cat Marmite

My favourite pet is my cat. Her name is
Mar-mite because she is black and has a
light brown faded in her fur. She likes to
roll around on the concrete in the sun and
when she is rolling around she tries to bite
me but when she is up and I am running
around she tries to scratch me. When she
is hungry she walks towards the door and
then wacks the door with her tail. Everyday
after school I feed her but sometimes my
cousin Jordan feeds her the Cat food. My
cat is sometimes fussy with her cat food
but when she's really hungry she eats it all.
We have had my cat for 4 years and when we
got her she was a little kitten but now she
is massive and nearly getting to the stage of
being old. I love my cat so much.

Last game of netball

On the 29th of June 2019 I had my last game of netball. We had our netball at the netball courts. We had prize giving. In my team was Lara, Awhi, Zana, Tia, Anahera P and Alani. Our coach was Mrs Davan. There were other teams there and all the parents. We had 15 minutes on each part of the whole court. Everytime our 15 minutes were over a buzzer went off. We had different groups versing us. On our last turn the buzzer went off then all the teams went to go and sit on the concrete. The adults stayed standing up. A lady called Carol called out each group's names and the group that got called up walked up, got a photo taken of them and got their prizes. When everyone had left everyone in my team got a Milk chocolate bar from Mrs Davan. We walked to the bathroom and then we got changed into our normal clothes. When we were finished getting changed we gave Mrs Davan the netball uniforms and then we left and then Mrs Davan packed all the Net-balls and hoops away in the shed  where they were normally put.

My Puppy

My puppy is black and white. His name is
Leech because the other person that had
him called him that. He likes playing at
the beach and sometimes he chases
after the seagulls that are hanging
around us. Whenever we call out to him
he stops what he's doing and then runs
as fast as he could to get to us. He does
not like swimming but he does like
getting a bit wet. Whenever we take
him in the water with us he starts to cry.
He sometimes drowns when there are
little waves that make him sink in the
water a little. When he’s out of the water
he wants to come by us but he is scared
at the same time. He has jumped off a
little cliff before and then into the water
he went. I love my puppy so much.
